Summary
- The first volume of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has given a full overview of Eida's Omnipotence.
- The idea that Omnipotence could be used to manifest anything the user imagines has the potential to make it even more overpowered than it already is.
- The description of Omnipotence hints at another Otsutsuki being involved in the story, but that's highly dependent on how things are translated.
One of the biggest jutsu to ever be introduced in Boruto has been Eida’s Omnipotence. Its initial presentation as a nigh-invincible charm power already made it dangerous, but the end of the original Boruto revealing that it could do things like rewrite the memories of everyone on the planet made it one of the most powerful techniques in the entire Naruto franchise.
Omnipotence is easily one of the biggest things to be introduced in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, and fortunately, the basics of it have been fully broken down. As reported on X by Abdul Zoldyck (@Abdul_S17), the first volume of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex included a summary of some of the events leading up to it, and part of that was a breakdown of how Eida’s Omnipotence worked.
It is said that this jutsu was once used by an Otsutsuki who became a God to create the current world. It is the ultimate power that can materialize one's will. Since it was originally an Otsutsuki technique, Eida can't control it, thus resulting in its current form of "an ability that subconsciously materializes one's latent desires".
Many of the details could already be surmised from the manga, but in addition to emphasizing how powerful Omnipotence is, the summary of Eida’s Omnipotence also teases a possible new mystery for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex to address at some point, by mentioning another, yet-unnamed, Otsutsuki who once possessed this reality-shaping technique.
Boruto Can Make Eida’s Omnipotence Even More Broken Than It Already Is
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex by Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto
With the ins and outs of Eida’s Omnipotence being given, there’s a chance for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex to make it even more broken than it already is. Eida’s Omnipotence is simply described as “the ultimate ability to materialize one’s will”, something that has already been seen with Eida subconsciously using it to reverse everyone’s memories of Kawaki and Boruto. There’s nothing to suggest that Omnipotence is limited to the immaterial, however, so if Eida were able to master Omnipotence, she would likely be able to materialize anything she imagined, thus making it even more broken than it already is.
The idea of Omnipotence taking on a form like that makes sense when considering its origin as a shinjutsu. Shinjutsu have been described as the ultimate Otsutsuki techniques capable of creating godlike phenomena, with Shibai Otsutsuki said to have been able to perform a plethora of godlike feats. Since Eida’s Omnipotence comes from Shibai’s DNA, she could be able to reach similar heights. However, the notes of volume 1 specify that, as Eida is only mortal, her control of the technique is limited, and thus she could only use it subconsciously, at least until Kawaki inadvertently "hijacked" Omnipotence and used it to materialize his own desire.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Hints At Another Otsutsuki In Its Story

In addition to the finer details about Omnipotence, another big reveal for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is the teasing of another Otsutsuki for the story. The description of Omnipotence says that it was used by an Otsutsuki who became a God, but if it were just talking about Shibai, it’s odd that he isn’t specifically named. With that in mind, there’s a chance that Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is hinting at another Otsutsuki besides Shibai who wielded Omnipotence and became a God. Not only that, but apparently Omnipotence was used to create "the current world", meaning the entire Naruto world could be the creation of an Otsutsuki.
There are some caveats to that idea, of course. Maybe the text simply chose not to include Shibai Otsutsuki’s name, and also the Japanese language doesn’t always specifically distinguish between singulars and plurals, so the description of Omnipotence could also be translated as referring to the Otsutsuki, in general, as opposed to a specific person among them. Whatever the case, later chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex are bound to clear up the distinction as Omnipotence’s overpowered nature is inevitably explored, and it’ll be great to see how that ends up playing out from start to finish.
