Hero Guide[]

Summary[]

Green Valentine Melascula was a 2022 Valentine’s Day-released version of Melascula, following the previous year’s Valentine’s Day versions of Elaine, Jenna, Zaneri, Diane, and Derieri. Similar to regular versions of Melascula, she’s portrayed wrapped in a black demonic “snake”, but she has a chocolate brown and maroon outfit on with small hearts on her thighs and hip. As a Commandment, Melascula has her Commandment of Faith, which applies Ignite effects in PvP.

Due to her Commandment and Unique ability, Melascula’s primary benefit is in PvP.

Pros[]

  • Good counter to Ignite Heros like Green Escanor, Red Demon Meliodas, Red Kyo and such
  • Ultimate Move Gauge depletion with all ranks of her Attack skill
  • Punitively forces enemies to use at least one skill per unit in PvP
  • Increases all allies’ basic stats based on her Lifesteal
  • Provides Ignite immunity to all allies
  • Can provide a barrier to protect all allies'
  • Useful in Demonic Beast Battles because of her basic stat boost, barriers and Ignite Immunity as they frequently uses Ignite Debuffs on your teams

Cons[]

  • Has limited viability outside of PvP and Demonic Beast Battles
  • Unlike Red Melascula, does not have the “zombie” effect of keeping allies alive through revival
  • Healing applies only to herself and not her allies
  • As a limited event hero she can be difficult to get on your team
  • When she dies the Ignite immunity goes away, and it only works when she is in battle so she can't be in sub slot for her stat increase and Ignite immunity to work
  • Barrier buffs can be removed with buff removal or countered with enemies with Rupture
  • Enemies that can reduce Lifesteal and HP-Related Status stats can reduce the effectiveness of her basic stat boost

Skill Review[]

Take My Chocolate: Aptly named for the Valentine holiday, Valentine Melascula’s “Take My Chocolate” skill inflicts damage on a single target and depletes Ultimate Move Gauge orbs in doing so. This can be extremely effective in countering Ult Rush teams, as even her Rank 1 skill is able to deplete one orb. Rank 2 can deplete two orbs, and Rank 3 can deplete three orbs.

Lovely Atmosphere: Valentine Melascula’s second skill is similar to Green Merlin’s and creates a barrier around her allies equal to a percentage of her Attack. Since her primary stat to build should be Lifesteal to capitalize on her Unique ability, this skill has less benefit than if she were an Attack-heavy build, but it can still be helpful to protect her allies from damage.

Ultimate Move - Summon Soul: Similar to the other variants of Melascula’s Ultimate Moves, this move attacks a single target and Lifesteals to heal her for a portion of the damage dealt. Melascula is best built up with a full Lifesteal set, so this Ultimate Move can be really beneficial for keeping her alive. Unfortunately, it applies only to her and not her allies.

Commandment of Faith: As a Commandment, Melascula has an extra ability. However, if more than one unit with a Commandment is used, only the farthest left unit’s Commandment will apply. With Melascula’s Commandment, if an enemy does not use skills on a given hero in PvP, that hero will receive two Ignite effects which will last for five turns. This Commandment applies at the end of every turn.

Unique - Wanna Try a Bite?: Melascula’s Unique ability is what makes her shine. Her Unique ability increases all allies’ basic stats by 20% of her Lifesteal at the start of the battle. This caps out at 20%, so to make the most of this Unique ability it is recommended to get her Lifesteal stat to 100% through the use of Equipment, and if necessary, Food. Additionally, this Unique ability grants immunity to Ignite to all of her allies.

Usage[]

PVP[]

Melascula can help to boost her team’s stats by up to 20% depending on her Lifesteal stat. The best way to ensure the maximum benefit is to get her Lifesteal up to 100% by wearing a full Lifesteal set, with four Life pieces and two Lifesteal pieces.

One of the best team compositions to use with Green Valentine Melascula is to use her on a full Demon team with Green Assault Mode Meliodas, Green Estarossa, and Green Festival Zeldris. Red Zeldris can be used in place of Green Festival Zeldris if necessary. This team plays heavily on Green “Assault Mode” Meliodas’s impressive damage dealing, and uses Estarossa to protect him by directing all attacks to himself for Countering. However, one downside of this team, however, is that Melascula’s Commandment will not apply if he isn't the most left Commandment unit since only one Commandment can be active in PvP unless two teams with different Commandments are active.

She can also be in a team with Blue Festival Berserk Estarossa but however it isn't recommended if he is the most left unit and has his Commandments active as it removes one buff when ally uses a skill so it remove her barriers if a skill is used.

Another viable team composition to use with Green Valentine Melascula is Red Awakened Lillia, Red Kyo, and Green Festival Zeldris. Lillia essentially buffs herself with her own Holy Relic, and Zeldris and Melascula are both able to buff their allies’ basic stats, so Lillia will serve as the primary damage dealer in this team composition. This composition can be more beneficial than the full Demon team because it allows players to utilize Melascula’s Commandment.

PVE[]

Green Valentine Melascula is one of the few Demon and Commandment units that can still be useful in endgame content like Demonic Beast Battles as her ultimate move depletion, barriers, basic stat increase and ignite immunity since he ultimate move depletion will be very helpful as she can ensure the demonic beasts can't use their powerful ult move and frequent usage of ignites from their attacks, uniques and passives. However using her in Hraesvelgr isn't that much recommended as while that beast uses ignites that her passive can benift from, however the on first floor phase 4 high defense and resistance will patience her attacks. Hsr basic stat effect will be reduced due to the Beasts reducing Lifesteal, Recovery and Regneration by 40% as her stat increase effect is based on her Lifesteal.

However she shines more in the other two Demonic Eikthyrnir and especially Skoll and Hati for those who don't have Red Freyr since Eikthynir has a Demonic Beast Passive that inflicts ignite on you team whenever the deer uses it's stance on Phase 4 of each floor and will deal extra damage while you wait out it's deadly counter stance to attack again so putting Melascula on the team will have her ignite immunity block out the ignites whenever the boss uses it's stance to ensure your team doesn't die if you do the strategy of completeing one rotation sequence to remove the stance.

However she shines in Skoll and Hati the most as the Beast always applies ignite debuffs on phase 3 after every turn and keeping them from wiping out your team and use her barriers to block out most of the boss' damage if you don't have Red Freyr.

She is not recommended in Nidhoggr boss fight due to it having little to no ingites for her passive that benifits and constant buff removal will remove her barriers.

If you have Blue Festival Berserk Estarossa you can quickly build up Darkness on the Demonic Beasts since Darkness will be inflicted on enemies whenever a ally that is a Demon and/or with a Commandment as Melascula follows under both conditions so it allows her to inflict Darkness on the boss and allow you to stack up Darkness faster and allow Estarossa to use his Tenticle Blade to deal massive damage from the Covert Action for each Darkness on the boss to finish it off quicker and easier.

Story[]

Melascula is an elite warrior of the Demon Clan, serving directly under the Demon King as the Faith of the Ten Commandments. Like all members of the Demon Clan, she is able to utilize the mysterious jet-black matter as shown forming wings for flight. she uses it to battle in close-combat as seen in her battle against Ban.

As stated by herself, Melascula is an expert at manipulating the dying and the dead, along with their souls. She has strong summoning capabilities, having brought forth lesser demons. As Melascula was a snake that bathed in the miasma of the Demon World to gain her demonic powers, she can transform at will into her original giant hooded snake form, which possesses great strength and endurance as she managed to easily hold down Ban with her mouth alone and endured attacks from the other members of the Seven Deadly Sins.
