Six Blended Baked Oat Flavors

These six blended baked oat flavors are so easy, and make only 1 serving – perfect for when you want a snack to yourself! First, rolled oats, applesauce, an egg, some honey, baking powder and a pinch of salt are all added to a blender to create a smooth consistency. This turns the rolled oats into a smooth flour texture and will create the “base recipe” that can then be mixed with other ingredients for easy flavors.

How To Make 6 Blended Baked Oats Flavors

For The Oat Base (makes 1 serving)

STEP 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease one 6 oz ramekin-style container (must be oven-safe) with nonstick cooking spray.

STEP 2: Add ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats, ½ cup unsweetened applesauce, 1 egg, 1 Tbsp honey, ½ tsp baking powder and ⅛ tsp salt to a blender. Blend on high for 1 minute until it’s smooth.

STEP 3: Pour the mixture into a bowl and stir in one of the flavor combinations below:

  • Double Chocolate: Mix in 2 tsp cocoa powder and 1 Tbsp chocolate chips with the batter. Pour into the ramekin. Sprinkle the last 1 Tbsp chocolate chips on top just before baking.
  • Apple Cinnamon: Mix in ¼ cup finely chopped apple and 1 tsp cinnamon and pour into a ramekin.
  • Coconut Blueberry: Mix in ¼ cup blueberries and 1 Tbsp shredded coconut and add to a ramekin.
  • Cranberry Orange: Mix in ¼ cup dried cranberries and 1 Tbsp orange zest and add to a ramekin
  • Peanut Butter & Jam: Mix in 1 Tbsp peanut butter with the batter, then pour into a ramekin. After baking, top with 1 Tbsp melted peanut butter (melt in microwave) and 2 tsp strawberry jam.

STEP 4: Preheat the oven to 350℉. Add the ramekin to the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean when poked in the center. Let cool for 10 minutes, then serve.

Recipe Tips

  • You can use a blender or food processor to make this recipe. If you don’t have either, you can use oat flour in replacement of rolled oats and mix everything in a bowl.
  • Place the ramekins on an empty baking sheet and use that to place in the oven. It’s easier to handle and will prevent spilling in the oven.
  • The more you bake at once, the longer they will take to cook. I baked six at once and these took about 33 minutes.
  • You could probably bake these in a muffin tin as well! The cooking time will vary, but it should be around 25-35 minutes. You can check when they’re done by poking a toothpick through the center.

Can You Use Steel Cut Oats or Instant Pack Oats?

Possibly! I honestly haven’t tried it. I would assume that intant oats will work for this recipe quite easily. But steel cut oats might be too dense and may cook differently.

How Many Calories Are In Each Baked Oatmeal?

Each oatmeal recipe will vary depending on the toppings added, oats used, quantities etc. But here’s a reference of calories for each without the toppings:
